A maintenance program should fit the equipment and the way the plant runs it. Our visits cover the burner and flame safeguard, low-water cutoffs, safety valves, feedwater and condensate, deaerator, blowdown and water chemistry. We service Hurst, Saskatoon Boiler, CAMUS, Limpsfield and Oilon equipment and tune combustion on Autoflame, Fireye, Honeywell, Lamtec and Siemens controls.
In British Columbia, Technical Safety BC administers the Safety Standards Act and the Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation, which covers certificates of inspection. We handle boiler certification and recertification, with or without a safety-authority inspection, and prepare the recertification paperwork. Coastal plants run a long, damp heating season; interior and northern sites face much harder cold.
Combustion, water treatment and system audits
Combustion is one of our specialties. We modernize burners with low-NOx designs, O2 trim, digital combustion controls and remote monitoring. Tighter combustion control cuts fuel use, steadies steam pressure and reduces nuisance trips, and remote monitoring shows operators how the boiler is running between visits.
Our water treatment programs cover steam boilers, closed-loop hot water, glycol and cooling towers. Poor water chemistry is behind a lot of scale and tube failures. System audits look at traps, condensate return and controls as well as the boiler itself, and we recommend upgrades in the order that pays back first.
