What does a boiler technician do?
A boiler technician has a variety of skills required to maintain and repair boilers. Some tecnicians have specialities such as welding, combustion, controls and trouble shooting.
Does the navy still have boiler technicians?
Neither the U.S. Navy nor the Royal Canadian Navy has a specific “Boiler Technician” role anymore. In the U.S., those duties are now handled by Machinist’s Mates, while in Canada, marine engineering technicians manage propulsion and mechanical systems on modern ships.
What course do I need for a boiler?
Courses you need for boiler training include various skilled trades programs, from electrical, to welding, to pipe fitting, controls, and many more.
