In Virginia, boilers and pressure vessels fall under the Department of Labor and Industry’s Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety program. Certificate inspections are carried out by Virginia-commissioned insurance, contract-fee or qualified owner-user inspectors, and high-pressure boilers need an annual internal inspection. We open, clean and prepare boilers for the inspector and complete the repairs the report calls out.
Danville’s Piedmont climate brings mild winters, with heating design temperatures near 15–20 °F, and hot summers. Boilers sized for the coldest days spend much of the year at low fire, which leads to short cycling, wear on burners and controls, and condensation in the stack. Combustion tuning reduces these problems, and summer is a practical time to schedule outages on heating plants.
