Why Pyro

Why Southern Nevada facilities call Pyro

Las Vegas boiler rooms run hard all year. Hotel laundries, kitchens and domestic hot water keep the same load through the mild winter, and Clark County’s air-quality rules put larger boilers on a fixed tune-up schedule. Our team tunes burners, tests emissions and repairs pressure parts, so one call covers both service and compliance.

DAQM emission and performance testing

We perform the emission, performance and source testing that Clark County’s DAQM requires for boilers of 10 MMBtu and over.

Low-NOx burners and linkageless controls

We retrofit low-NOx burners and replace worn linkage with Siemens LMV or Autoflame controls, which hold the fuel-air ratio tighter across the firing range.

Backed by the Thermogenics network

Thermogenics is a boiler manufacturer and service group with over 10 locations across North America, and our Las Vegas team draws on that network for parts and rentals.

Boiler maintenance

Southern Nevada boiler maintenance and tune-ups

The Clark County Department of Air Quality sets a tune-up schedule for each boiler by size. On every tune-up we set up the burner, take combustion readings, adjust the fuel-air ratio and write a detailed compliance report for that boiler.

Our maintenance agreements run monthly, quarterly or annually. Visits cover the burner and flame safeguard, low-water cutoffs, safety valves, gas train, feed pumps and water-side condition. Nevada also requires a permit before a boiler is installed, and each boiler must be inspected and certified to operate under the Nevada Division of Industrial Relations – Mechanical Compliance Section. We keep your equipment ready for that inspection and handle start-ups on new and reinstalled units.

Steam traps, feedwater and the rest of the system

Our maintenance work extends to the steam and feedwater system. On steam traps, the U.S. Department of Energy found that systems left alone for 3–5 years can have 15% to 30% of their traps failed, and regular surveys bring that below 5%. We also service deaerators, feedwater and chemical feed systems, condensate return and pumps, because a failed trap or a starved feed pump often shows up first as a boiler problem.

Boiler repair

Emergency boiler repair across Southern Nevada

Boiler down? Call us 24/7Call 702-384-7976 to reach the Las Vegas team.

When a boiler trips at a hotel or hospital, our first job is getting heat and hot water back safely. Our technicians carry common parts on the truck and troubleshoot burners, flame safeguards, controls, pumps and low-water cutoffs on site. Once the plant is running again, we trace the failure to its cause.

We repair Cleaver-Brooks, Hurst, Fulton, Bryan, Lochinvar and RBI boilers, among many others, and service Power Flame, Webster and Gordon Piatt burners. Larger jobs are regular work for us, including refractory replacement, re-tubing of firetube and watertube boilers, piping repairs and pump replacement. Repairs and alterations to pressure parts are done under our National Board R stamp.

Combustion controls and low-NOx retrofits

Repeat problems on older boilers often come from worn linkage and jackshaft controls that drift out of adjustment. We replace them with linkageless Siemens LMV or Autoflame systems, often alongside a low-NOx burner retrofit that helps the boiler meet Clark County emission limits. Linkageless controls give steadier firing, cleaner tune-up numbers and fewer nuisance trips.

Boiler parts

Boiler parts for Las Vegas plants

Our service trucks carry pumps, valves, ignition components, gaskets, coils, controls and burner parts, and we keep a parts inventory at the branch. Those are the components that wear out most often, so a common failure doesn’t have to wait on shipping.

For harder-to-find items we draw on the Thermogenics network. Pump lead times can be long, with Grundfos repair kits quoted at 8–10 weeks and new pumps at 10–12, so we repair what we can and plan critical spares with you ahead of time.

  • Low-water cutoffs: McDonnell & Miller
  • Flame safeguards: Fireye, Honeywell
  • Gas regulators and valves: Maxitrol, ASCO
  • Steam traps: Spirax Sarco, Armstrong
  • Pumps: Goulds, Grundfos, Bell & Gossett
  • Safety relief valves: Kunkle
  • Level controls: Magnetrol, Warrick
  • Pressure gauges: Ashcroft
  • Burner parts and ignition components

Boiler rentals

Rental boilers for Southern Nevada

Most rental boilers go out after a failure, when a repair or replacement will take longer than the facility can wait. A new boiler can take about four months to build, and a rental covers that gap. For Southern Nevada we draw on Thermogenics’ containerized steam boilers, 150 to 500 HP, built for 250 psig MAWP and operating from 70 to 225 psig on natural gas, propane or No. 2 oil. Partner inventory widens the range from 30 BHP to 2,200+ BHP, including hot-water, thermal fluid and low-NOx units.

Our team handles the local work: the site walk, piping tie-in, start-up and service while the unit is on rent. Plan the steam connection early. Where the unit sits relative to your plant steam line drives the schedule, and a 400 ft run can mean 2–3 weeks of piping. The units ship in sea-can containers on standard trucks with no oversize escorts, but you’ll need a crane or a rented lowboy trailer to set them.

Thermogenics rental boiler specs

These specs cover the containerized units in the Thermogenics fleet. For other sizes, fuels or hot-water service, we source units from partner rental providers and set them up the same way.

Frequently asked questions

Questions from Southern Nevada customers

Who answers a boiler emergency in Las Vegas at night?

Our Las Vegas team answers. Emergency service runs 24/7 at 702-384-7976; the office is open 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pacific time, Monday to Friday, for scheduled work. Tell us what the boiler is doing, the make and model, and whether it’s a steam or hot-water unit, so the technician can load the likely parts.

Will you work on our Cleaver-Brooks boiler?

Yes. We work on firetube, watertube, steam, hot-water and electric boilers, from commercial units to large plant boilers, plus thermal fluid systems. Brands include Cleaver-Brooks, Hurst, Fulton, Kewanee, Superior, Bryan, Lochinvar, RBI, Raypak, Unilux, Aerco and Thermogenics. On burners and controls we service Power Flame, Webster, Gordon Piatt, Siemens LMV and Autoflame.

How often does Clark County require boiler tune-ups?

Twice a year for boilers of 10 MMBtu and over, and once a year for boilers of 4–9.99 MMBtu, under the Clark County Department of Air Quality program. We perform the tune-ups, provide a detailed compliance report for each boiler and can put your units on a schedule so a due date doesn’t slip past. Your air-quality permit sets the exact terms for your own equipment.

Can the same team handle DAQM testing and repairs?

Yes. Our team handles both. We run DAQM emission and source testing and also tune and repair burners, so an issue found during testing doesn’t need a second contractor. If a boiler struggles to meet its limits, we can look at a low-NOx burner retrofit or new linkageless controls.

Can we rent a boiler while ours is repaired or replaced?

Yes. We supply containerized Thermogenics steam boilers and partner units, including hot-water and thermal fluid, and our team sets them up and services them while on rent. Call early, because the distance from the unit to your steam line and crane access both affect the schedule.

Can you do code repairs on our boiler’s pressure parts?

Yes. We hold a National Board ‘R’ stamp for repairs and alterations to boilers and pressure vessels, and pressure-part work such as welding and re-tubing is done under that stamp. We document each repair for your state boiler inspection and can help get the boiler inspected and back in service.

Do you serve Mesquite, Laughlin and Pahrump?

Yes. Our Las Vegas team covers all of Clark County, including Mesquite and Laughlin, and we also serve Pahrump.

Is this the same team as Pyro Combustion & Controls?

Yes. Pyro Combustion & Controls joined Thermogenics in 2024. The Las Vegas team, led by General Manager Rob Abraham, still serves Clark County under the Pyro name and answers the same number, 702-384-7976. What has changed is the support behind us: parts and rental boilers from the Thermogenics network.
