Union Boiler, part of Thermogenics, keeps steam and hydronic boilers running for Sarnia plants, hospitals and campuses. Our Hamilton team handles maintenance, repairs and retubing, builds process and gas piping in-house, and can bring in a rental boiler when yours is down.

Chemical Valley is one of Canada’s largest concentrations of refineries and petrochemical plants, and they are heavy steam users. Sarnia’s bio-industrial projects, its hospital and college, and the contractors who support the plants all run boilers as well.
Refineries and petrochemical plants use steam for process heat, tracing and building heat. We repair and retube boilers and heat exchangers and build process piping.
Renewable chemical and fuel projects at Bioindustrial Park Sarnia-Lambton run on process steam. We install, maintain and upgrade boilers, controls and piping.
Hospitals rely on boilers for heating, domestic hot water and sterilization steam year-round. We keep hospital boiler plants on scheduled maintenance and handle emergency repairs.
Campus and school heating plants, many of them hydronic, have to hold temperature all winter. Our hydronic specialists and PK-certified technicians handle tune-ups, controls and replacements.
Fabrication and turnaround contractors run their own shop heating and process boilers. We service them and can add welding, steel fabrication and pipe spooling to the same job.
Choose a monthly plan (11 inspections plus an annual inspection) or a quarterly plan (3 inspections plus an annual maintenance visit). We do annual overhauls with the government or insurance inspector present, and plans include fixed labour rates and priority scheduling.
Maintenance from HamiltonWe repair hydronic and steam boilers of all makes, including Cleaver-Brooks, PK, RBI, IBC, Lochinvar, Fulton and Thermogenics. The work covers retubing, refractory and pump repair, burners from PK, Riello, Weishaupt and Cleaver-Brooks, and Honeywell and Fireye flame safeguard controls.
Repair servicesOur trucks carry valves, pumps, controls and gaskets, and we keep OEM parts in stock at our Hamilton shop, mainly for hydronic systems.
Parts & suppliesRental boilers come through the Thermogenics network in sizes from 150 to 500 HP, rated 250 psig MAWP, firing natural gas, propane or No. 2 oil. We can also supply complete boiler rooms with feedwater tanks, pumps, water treatment and stacks, plus delivery, setup and commissioning.
Rental boilers & fleetIn Ontario, boilers and pressure vessels fall under the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). It administers the Boilers and Pressure Vessels regulation (O. Reg. 220/01), covering design registration, inspection and certificates of inspection, and the Operating Engineers regulation (O. Reg. 219/01), which licenses the people who run plants. We open boilers up and prepare them for the annual inspection.
Sarnia’s winters are milder than much of Ontario, with January design temperatures around -16 °C, but heating plants still run hard from fall to spring. Many faults start outside the boiler itself, so we also look at pumps, controls, piping and condensate return.

Yes. Rentals come through the Thermogenics North American network, with larger units than our standard sizes available on request. We handle delivery, setup, commissioning and support once units arrive.
