In Alberta, boilers and pressure vessels fall under ABSA – The Pressure Equipment Safety Authority. ABSA administers the Safety Codes Act and the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation. Owners must keep each boiler on a valid certificate of inspection permit and follow ABSA’s inspection intervals. We handle certification and recertification, with or without the safety-authority inspection, and coordinate repairs with ABSA.
January lows in Cold Lake regularly reach the -30s °C. If a boiler trips overnight, condensate lines, feedwater and glycol loops can freeze before it is restarted. During maintenance we pay close attention to combustion air and low-water cutoffs. Our rental services also include pipeline hydrotesting down to -40 °C.
