In Alberta, boilers and pressure vessels fall under ABSA – The Pressure Equipment Safety Authority, which administers the Safety Codes Act and the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation. Owners must keep each boiler on a valid certificate and follow ABSA inspection intervals. We hold ABSA Certificate of Authorization Permit AQP-21130, so repairs and alterations are done under an approved quality control system, and we coordinate inspections with ABSA.
Chinooks can swing Lethbridge temperatures quickly, and winter cold snaps still reach the -30s °C, so heating loads rise and fall fast. That brings more burner cycling, more thermal stress on refractory and tubes, and frozen condensate or feedwater lines if a plant loses heat. Wind and dust also clog combustion air intakes, so we check intakes, controls and cycling as part of our service work.
