Rental boilers ship from our fleet to Calgary sites. Parts can be ordered 24 hours a day for delivery or pickup at a Prime location, from an inventory that includes Autoflame, Fireye, Honeywell and Siemens components.

Most of Calgary’s boiler load is building heat and institutional steam over a long heating season. Our Calgary projects include campus, office tower and correctional facility plants.
Hospital heating and sterilization plants need a steam supply that holds. Our maintenance programs, water treatment and 24/7 emergency repair suit hospital steam and hot water plants.
Campus heating plants carry whole buildings through winter. At the University of Calgary Research Centre we replaced corroded heating boilers with low-water-content units plus a 150 HP high-pressure boiler for humidification.
Office and hotel heating plants often need new boilers that fit the room they have. At Aquatine Tower and the AMEC Building we fitted low-water-content boilers with condensing economizers into the existing space.
Meat packing, brewing and food plants need steady process steam and clean condensate systems. Prime’s food projects include Champion Petfoods’ 900 BHP greenfield steam plant and a one-day condensate re-pipe for Condillo Foods.
Institutional plants need redundancy and good condensate recovery. For the Calgary Correctional Facility we supplied three 300 HP Hurst low-pressure boilers with a pressurized deaerator.
Maintenance programs cover burner tune-ups, flame safeguard and low-water cutoff testing, refractory checks and water treatment for steam, closed-loop hot water and glycol systems. Our audits also check feedwater, condensate and controls, since faults there often show up as boiler problems.
Maintenance from Red DeerOur technicians troubleshoot flame failures, leaks and control faults, repair deaerators, feedwater tanks and blowdown separators, and do refractory repair on boilers from 25 HP to 5,000 HP. Under our ABSA permit we repair and alter power and heating boilers, pressure vessels and piping.

Parts & suppliesOur fleet of 30+ skid- and trailer-mounted boilers runs from a 30 BHP diesel firetube to watertubes and a 2,200 HP, 750 psig Nebraska watertube, in diesel, natural gas and dual fuel. Units cover planned outages, failures and plant turnarounds.
Rental boilers & fleetIn Alberta, ABSA – The Pressure Equipment Safety Authority administers the Safety Codes Act and the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation. Owners must keep boilers and pressure vessels on a valid certificate of inspection permit and follow ABSA’s inspection intervals. We hold ABSA Certificate of Authorization Permit AQP-21130 and handle boiler certification and recertification, with or without the safety-authority inspection.
January design temperatures in Calgary sit around -30 °C, so heating plants run hard for months. Chinook warm spells cut the load quickly before the cold returns. The extra cycling wears burners and refractory and keeps combustion controls busy. O2 trim, digital combustion controls and burner modernization help a plant follow the load without short-cycling.
