Temporary steam and hot water for Central Florida plants

Most rentals start with an unplanned failure. A tube leak, a cracked tube sheet or failed refractory turns into a long or costly repair, and the plant still needs heat. In Central Florida that load is often hot water and laundry for resorts and theme parks, sterilization for hospitals, or process steam for food, beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical plants. A rental carries the load while the repair gets done.

Rental units come from the Thermogenics containerized fleet and partner inventory, and we match the unit to your pressure, fuel and load. The Industrial Engineering team in Orlando runs the job locally, from the site walk through start-up and service. The same people repair, re-tube and maintain boilers across Central Florida the rest of the year.

When plants rent

When Central Florida plants rent a boiler

Emergency boiler failures

A failed tube sheet, a cracked section or a damaged furnace can take weeks to repair. A rental keeps hot water and process steam on while we fix the original boiler.

Planned outages and re-tubing

Re-tubing, refractory work and inspection shutdowns are easier to schedule when a rental carries the load. Plan it with us and the unit can be set before your boiler comes offline.

Bridging a new boiler order

New boilers often take four to six months to arrive when the factory is busy. A rental covers the gap while you order the replacement that fits your plant.

Waiting on a part or refractory

A rental can be as short as 8–10 days. It keeps the plant running while a replacement part ships or new refractory is installed and cured.

Process and terminal steam

Food, beverage, brewing and distilling lines, chemical and pharmaceutical batches, and thermal fluid for asphalt and liquid terminals stop when the boiler stops. We size the rental to your process.

Complete temporary boiler rooms

When the whole boiler room is out, we can supply a complete temporary boiler room with water treatment, feedwater tanks, pumps and stacks.

The fleet

Rental boilers from the Thermogenics fleet

Standalone rental boilers in the Thermogenics fleet run from 150 to 500 HP. They are built to a standard 250 psig MAWP design and operate from 70 to 225 psig, with larger units on request. They fire natural gas, propane or No. 2 oil. Beyond single boilers, the fleet includes hot water and thermal fluid units, complete boiler rooms, water treatment, feedwater tanks, pumps, blowdown and stacks.

How a rental works

How a rental job runs, call to pickup

  1. 1

    Call and intake questions

We start with who you are, where the plant is and what the boiler serves. Then we cover process, pressure, fuel, voltage, water quality and any county or state NOx limits. Those answers decide which unit can work.

  2. 2

    Site walk

We usually get someone on site quickly. We check where the unit will sit, crane or lowboy access and the distance to your steam line. A 400 ft run can mean 2–3 weeks of piping, so placement matters.

  3. 3

    Delivery and set

Our units ship in standard shipping containers, so they travel without escort or oversize-load arrangements. A crane lifts the unit off the truck onto your prepared pad, or it arrives on a rented lowboy trailer.

  4. 4

    Tie-in and start-up

We pipe the unit to your steam or hot water header and connect fuel, power, feedwater and blowdown, then fire and test it. Every unit is inspected and tested before deployment, and we check it again on your load.

  5. 5

    Support on rent and pickup

While the unit is on rent, our Orlando team handles maintenance and repair calls. When your own boiler is back in service, we disconnect and drain the rental and load it out.

Site preparation

What to have ready on site

A rental goes in faster when the site is ready. The closer the unit sits to your steam or hot water header, the less temporary piping we run, so settle placement first. Plan for a level pad, room for a crane or lowboy to reach it, and the utilities the boiler needs. Florida’s heat and summer storms make drainage around the pad worth planning, and the area should stay clear for service access.

  • A level, firm pad close to your steam or hot water header
  • Clear access for a crane or lowboy trailer to reach the pad
  • Fuel supply: natural gas, propane or No. 2 oil, and its pressure
  • Electrical service and the voltage available at the pad
  • Makeup water and a recent water analysis if you have one
  • Your county or state emissions and NOx requirements
  • Your operating pressure and the steam or hot water load
  • A drain point for blowdown and a route for condensate return

Frequently asked questions

Boiler rental questions

Boiler down in Orlando. How soon can a rental run?

Call 407-293-9317 the moment the boiler goes down. The line is answered 24/7. Give us your process, pressure, fuel, voltage and water details, and on that first call we can tell you which unit fits and when it can reach your site. We usually get someone out quickly to plan the set.

How do you size a rental boiler?

We size it from the load you need to carry and your operating pressure. The rating of the boiler that failed is a starting point, but we look at what your plant actually draws. Standalone fleet units run 150 to 500 HP, and with partner inventory the network covers 30 BHP to more than 2,200 BHP.

Will the rental run on the fuel we have at the plant?

Yes, if it is natural gas, propane or No. 2 oil, which our rental boilers fire. Tell us the fuel at the pad, its supply pressure and your emissions limits. Sub-30 NOx is a typical requirement in the U.S., and low NOx units are part of the network range. Those rules help decide which unit can work.

What should we prepare before the rental boiler arrives?

Have a level pad close to your steam or hot water header and clear access for a crane or lowboy trailer. You also need fuel, power at the right voltage, makeup water and a drain for blowdown. We pick the closest workable spot during the site walk to keep piping short, and confirm every connection before the unit is set.

Who looks after the rental while it’s on our site?

Our Orlando team installs the unit, starts it up, maintains it while it’s on rent and handles repair calls on it.

How long can we keep a rental boiler?

As long as the job takes. Some rentals last 8–10 days while a part arrives or refractory is repaired. A full tube and tube-sheet job on a large firetube can run several months, and a rental that bridges a new boiler order covers the full lead time. We keep the unit maintained for the whole term.
